Description:

The principal function of Extrusion Press is to make flow the aluminium through the die at a controlled speed and temperature. This is achieved by means of hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic circuits controlled by a PLC system.

  • Main Characteristics:
    • The main tandem cylinder allows reducing the distance between columns allowing designing the more compact press on the market that causes a minimum deflection of the front plate and improves the quality of the extrusion process.
    • The Front Loading design reduces the length of the whole press (cylinder stroke, columns length) improving the dead cycle time and the oil flow.
    • Symmetrical upsetting of the Billet minimizes trapped air and radial stress, and allows a uniform flow of aluminium during extrusion.
    • The combination of the two previous features gives to the Tecalex Press a reduced dead cycle time.
    • The container holder is made of welded steel (St52.3) and it is moved by two container cylinders.
    • Container are made of 3 parts, the mantel, the liner holder and the liner, this allows having an optimal fatigue resistance improving the maintenance replacing period.
    • Tecalex presses also integrate a rotatory die changing system that allows changing the die in a very fast operating time.
    • The hydraulic circuit blocks and pumps are located on two steel frames just behind the press at floor level to make maintenance operations easier.

Z2 PC / Main Control Board

Description:

Tecalex extrusion plants are equipped with a modern control board, which includes the CADEX software from Tecalex for production planning and control via a database (paperless) and diagnosis. All machines and equipment are easily accessed either for maintenance or adaptation of the working parameters.

  • Main Characteristics:
    • The Process and Plant status is presented to the operator with a set of screen pages in which all the objects are represented with icons and animations. This allows the immediate identification of any process/equipment that is not in the proper operating condition.
    • A continuous check of the process and the equipment status of the area is performed. As soon as a relevant problem is detected, an “alarm” is immediately issued to the operator on the bottom line of the operator panel monitor.
    • The non-volatile database of the Process Control System is designed with particular care to data consistency and integrity.
    • A standard open-type relational database is used to allow the customer developing new applications that access this database, using the standard access method ANSI-SQL. The relevant information concerning each extrusion cycles are stored in this Data Base.
    • The extrusion Reports are generated and can be displayed and printed on operator’s request. Report per shift, day, week are available and printed upon operator request or automatically at the end of the operating cycle.
    • The Ethernet network of the Tecalex aluminium extrusion plant is completely independent from the customers’ network in order to avoid possible conflicts and allows communicating the customer equipment with our Technical Service through the main control board.
